Did Apollo see the use for turning your head into a pumpkin? Not at all. He was actually more curious to see if one could carve that pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern? Would that cause you to have actual scars on your face once changed back from the pumpkin? Also, Lisa Nam offered a very interesting strategy and made Apollo grateful she was not on the opposing quidditch team yet.
Side effects. "Uh... pumpkins rot, so you could end up with a rotting pumpkin for your head and ew. No one wants thats." He shrugged.
