| Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight "Hello, Mr Anders," Kamran replied, after a quick glance up to make absolutely sure he was speaking to that particular student. "No thank you, I... hm." He paused, now noticing - because he was specifically looking - what seemed to be a little damage in the stonework around the door. "I'm sorry to hear that, Mr Cambridge," he said politely to the boy who passed by, ostensibly glossing over the intended barb, almost as though he'd missed his meaning entirely. "I can always add some extra lessons to your timetable if you're that concerned." Meaning, enough that he raised it here in the corridor, poor little lad. And then came McLeod, who earned the tiniest quirk of a smile. "Afternoon, Mr McLeod. I think perhaps we shall, just for today."
Because of that damage he'd spotted, a slight cracking in the stone. Nothing alarming, though perhaps enough to cause a shift in the wall and wedge the door in place? Kamran could not say, as buildings and architecture were not remotely in his wheelhouse. Perhaps someone had pranked the room in such a way that it was necessary to force the door. Or both, a little joke ending in property damage.
Instead of forcing it, he began setting up the gramophone right there, directly outside the classroom door, while addressing Miss Nam's suggestion. "The door might have warped, or someone is playing silly beggars with the classroom. In the interests of time, we'll rehearse out here, and I'll see to it later." No need to disrupt the schedule and risk over-running, and also no need to give a potential prank the audience its perpetrator would be looking for. Kamran opened the gramophone case, and the entire machine bloomed up and out like some kind of hideous daffodil with no petals. "Hello there, Mr Nam," Kamran eyed the Ravenclaw as he happened by. Quiet this year, wasn't he? Some attendance issues too, but that was not a matter for here and now, or even for Kamran to handle at this juncture. "Mr Botros." Another who was not a usual member of the Frog Choir. Not to be unreasonably suspicious or anything, but it made a guy wonder if someone just happened to pass by today in order to view the results of their handiwork. Kamran didn't say as much, didn't remotely let on, but he did privately take note of those who were here but were not expected, or did not usually stop by.
These two first years? Not in that category. "Mr Baltazar, Miss Toros." Kamran nodded to each in greeting as they arrived (the latter he'd heard well before sighting) before opening up the tank. "We'll give it another five minutes. In the meantime, come get acquainted, or re-acquainted, with the toads."
And he would... tickle the doorknob, as Baltazar had suggested, even if it was for the sole reason of making sure these younger kids knew they were being listened to. Kamran was by now set on the rehearsal taking place out here where they still had ample room and good acoustics. "Doorknob isn't very ticklish, it seems." Still a no-go, but no matter. |
