Raising a brow at his comment she asked "An infection? Could what I have be contagious?" She didn't want to give Aaron or the kids any sickness. No sores was a plus right?
Nodding Laurel affirmed. "I go home to both pets and children. I have 4 children in the age range of 3-10 and well two kneazles, two pygmy puffs and an owl." It was a full house. That River kept cleaning his hands was a bit worrying. Was what she had so serious?
Nodding his head, River double-checked the ointments and creams in his hands before turning back to Laurel.
"Since you are not allergic to anything, the next possible answer is that you got infected by someone or something. Also, your rashes are specific to your hands and feet," he continued, as he procured a cotton swab from the same drawer, applied a bit of ointment on it, and began to apply it on Laurel's right hand.
"At least you don't have any sores inside your mouth, so I'm guessing it's only a mild case." he said, as he busied himself with the medication.
"You work in Level 9. Have you been in contact with experimental potions lately?" he asked, now working on Laurel's other hand.
"I see. And none of your children have these symptoms? Fever, rashes, loss of appetite?" the thing with treating patients was he had to be very thorough and do some investigation as well. Merlin knows if her family was infected too, and Laurel was not even aware. It was River's job to give the correct advice, if his initial suspicion was correct.
