"Curse it all!" Damian's wand let off a couple sparks when it was thrown to the ground.
"That was my chance to end this!" He bellowed, voice hoarse with rage. Stomping towards the crime scene, he approached Ronan. The unspeakable opened his mouth, ready to yell, but a sad voice spoke in it's stead. "I promised her this wouldn't happen to anyone else.."
Finding his composure, he spoke to the auror in a more measured voice, following behind the wizard. "I don't blame you for not catching him by now. He was your former department head. He knows all your methods, probably trained half of you on how to investigate a situation like this." Damian couldn't look away from the sanguine trail. With their inability to capture this monster, their hands were practically bathed in crimson.
"But he doesn't know me. Doesn't know my department. I'm instituting a Deathwatch protocol, and inserting myself into this investigation. I will do everything in my power to see that these attacks come to a swift..and permanent..end." The unspeakable did not fully trust the MLE, but if Goldwasser was going to be caught, the Ministry of Magic would have to put aside their differences and work together.
