It wasn't until he chose a path that it occurred to Evan that he had chosen probably the most vulnerable path. Riverside could offer protection with the water, maybe, assuming that would do anything with the acromantulas. The winding path would probably have more tree coverage that at least they could attempt to hide, but what would that do too? But even if the others had downfalls, at least they had something that could be used for benefit. Instead of an open clearing.

And thinking more clearly about it, the smaller might be even MORE so since poison secreted when they were excited and babies were usually more excitable.
