It wasn’t unusual that he sometimes drifted off in own thoughts or got distracted when older people gave him a lecture on something he already knew about, in this case owls. Will wasn’t going to tell the older guy that though. Instead he considered the offer for a moment. Holding his arm out towards the owl, he asked "Is Waful nice? I don’t want to be bitten." He had a few scars from where Harry had bitten him in the past so he knew how sharp owl teeth were.
Waful had the sharpest and bestest talons. He also head the shiniest and bestest feathers. He ALSO had the brightest and bestest eyes. Everything about Waful was the best and he worked hard to keep it that way. But what Waful did not have the best of were
teeth and that was simply because owls did not have teeth to begin with. If they did, however, you could be sure that Waful had the best of those too.
Hearing his name spoken by the curly haired master, Waful ruffled his feathers a bit and decided to take action rather than perch and look pretty. Spreading his handsome wings and showing off his very impressive wingspan, the snowy owl gave a please 'hoot hoot' before hopping the distance from the shoulder he was already comfortable on to the considerably narrower shoulders of the boy. Another friendly hoot hoot later and his head turned some 210 degrees to look back at the Owl Post shopkeeper with an expectant click of the beak.
Treat, now. He deserved it. Waful was a very impressive and busy owl.
