Pippa had moved Baldur back to her third of the petting area when he was finished with his treats, so he wouldn't get jealous of Troy and Cressie when it was their turn, and by the time she had settled herself back on the platform, one of her volunteers was standing there in front of her saying she was done hiding the balls. "Excellent!" Pippa beamed at her, and then cast a glance around the room to see if the other girl was finished, too. Hopefully she was, because Pippa needed to finish up this part of her show soon so things could keep moving along.

Turning back to the audience, Pippa went on. "Here in one side of this contraption," pointing to two tube-like objects now sitting on the stool-transfigured-into-a-table, "there's a tube filled with water, and on the other side there's a little basket thingie containing some of Troy and Cressie's favorite treats. But as you can see, it's too low in the tube and they can't reach it.," Pippa motioned to the two ravens who had flown over to the table and were now taking turns in trying to stick their beaks into one of the tubes to pull out the treats, unsuccessfully.

"But if they find the balls we've hidden and put them down the other tube, it will raise the water in the first tube until the treats are high enough for them to grab. Let's watch and see if they can do it." And here Pippa stood back and turned to watch her raven pair. Sure enough, eventually Troy and Cressie began flying over the room looking for the balls, which they found soon enough, and one by one, they flew back to the platform and dropped each ball in the water-filled tube, pushing the water over to the other side and raising their treat basket higher and higher. Finally Cressie managed to pull it out and the two mates eagerly shared the treats between them.

"So let's give a hand to all the ravens, and also to our two excellent volunteers," and here Pippa beamed at Remy and Lisa. "And if anyone wants a closer look or to talk more about adopting a raven, please see me over in the Magical Menagerie section."

Satisfied with the way the ravens behaved--so much better than the jarveys--Pippa let Troy and Cressie perch on each of her arms as she ended the spells she'd placed on everything and levitated her equipment back to her corner of the room. Now there was just the finale to go, but that would come later, after the other shopkeepers had had a chance to speak.
