There was also something satisfying to be had in watching snitches get zapped and captured - quadpot was, in her opinion, the superior broom sport.

Busying herself with reorganizing the botanical offerings on the display shelf, she did her best to ignore the vomit inducing couple and fixed her eyes on the men and their daughter. At least he had the sense to keep little fingers and bodies away from the sentient flora. The same could not be said of all the patrons to enter her place of employment. She could inform the trio that the plants would not attack unless instructed to do so by herself, but with small hands lacking a certain self preservation...she would let her father's word remain absolute.

For now she simply watched and waited for someone to address her with direct interest. Both Camilo and Ezekiel were so much better at being personable. She was just here to babysit the plants.
Camilo arrived a little while after the booth opened for the day, having had to deal with an incident in Quality Quidditch Supplies the same morning. No, he'd rather not talk about it - though of course, he doubted that Valerie Gray would even ask. She ... scared him a little, but he trusted that they would work well together for this celebration. "Hello hello, sorry I'm late! How are you doing today, Valerie?" he asked politely, taking his place beside her and getting ready to assist people!

It had not all been so bleak, of course, and she was not an unhappy Hufflepuff. It was simply that graduation had come like a breath of fresh air.

And now she was getting fresh air while arm in arm with Sam as they made their way through the festival. Her eye had, of course, been drawn to one of the booths boasting some succulents...and when she saw that there was a quidditch theme along with some wares, well, it had clearly been a sign that they were meant to check out this booth.

"Let's give it a go," she whispered to her boyfriend while tugging gently but eagerly on his arm. "Look at that succulent there in the yellow pot. It's adorable!"

He gave her hair a gentle tug. "A plant? Look at those jerseys. Or maybe a gnome! Becky, wouldn't you like to have a gnome?"

Her hazel-green eyes considered the gnomes, which were still not among the top five items from the stand that excited her, and leaned her head against his shoulder. "It would be a cute addition to a garden." She was still uncertain what her housing situation would be, though her parents and grandpa had offered to put her up for a bit. She knew she needed to start looking for a place but the whole thing felt so overwhelming and so...she kept putting it off. "...but what about that succulent! It's a flowering one too."

Looking up at him, her eyes wide and hopeful, Becky gave his arm another cute little tug. "...does all that mean yes and you'll play with me?"

Sam stepped around the fathers and their daughter and waved at the bored employee in the stand. "Two, please. How well do we have to do to win one of the little... yellow... sucky plants?"

"Hi, welcome! Here are your wands," he handed Sam and Becky each a fake wand specially designed for this game while continuing to explain, "you'll have one try per wand to knock a snitch out of the air. If you succeed, you can choose whether you want a prize from Noltie's, QQS or Ollivanders, and a random item will be selected for you from the shop." He personally agreed that the potted succulent was the best prize from Noltie's, and hoped they would be able to win one. If they were asking how difficult the task would be ... well, he did not want to spoil the fun. "Good luck!" he waved at the young couple.

Usually she was more inclined to cling to and snuggle with Sachin. He hoped Sachin didn't mind the slow pace either, especially since Radi kept stopping to look at various things. "No Radi... you can't touch that... it bites." He warned cautiously as he pulled her hand back and stirred her away from the plant she was trying to pet. "That's not Duke, it's not going to let you play with it." Radi let out a frustrated noise that sounded very much like a raspberry.

"I bet you don't even hit one, Sach," Conley teased as they walked up to the booth. Surely his husband hadn't expected him to try? "Win me something good Daddy!" Conley said in a squeaky voice which made Radi giggle.

"Da-ddee!" Radhika squealed excitedly.

Indeed Sachin was quite patient with Radhika’s slow pace as well as her general curiosity with all the sites and objects. He was quite used to it, you see. Not to mention he was enjoying himself as he observed Conley. He was sure that Radhika’s interest would land her some sort of injury at some point in life but that was childhood, right? Accidents were bound to happen a lot during that time. Yet, he needn’t worry… the husband was taking care of things in the way of trying to prevent any disaster.

What’s this? A challenge? Sachin peered over his shades at Conley. “If I do, you get to clean the house for a month.” Because why not have a bet to spice things up? Then he was laughing at Conley squeaky voice and childish manner. It was adorable!

“This one’s for you, Radhi.’’ Sachin reached to tickle their daughter under her chin. He’d really love to win her that toy broomstick. “Hi.’’ Smiling, the man addressed the woman at the booth. “I’d like to have a go, please.” How did this work? The number of wands equaled the number of tries? One wand only worked for a certain number of blasts?

Unaware that the man had addressed Valerie and not him, Aguilar intercepted again and passed him a wand with a smile. How cute was this family?! "Good day, sirs and little miss! Here you go. You can use as many wands as you'd like, but it'll be one chance per wand to zap a snitch and win one of our excellent prizes. Would you like to try too?" he offered to the man holding their daughter's hand.

What was this? she wondered as she approached the next stall. Her eyes grew larger with excitement and awe when she saw just what it was. It was a carnival game? How cool!! Lisa ran closer to the stall to see what the other people were doing and if they were playing. Curious, she was.

So she observed a couple people participate in the game, noting the rules of the game. Take a wand, aim at one of the snitches, and knock them out. Jasper would love this game, she just knew it!

As Dustin was over six feet tall, it was actually much easier to look for her friend. HA! Found her over by zap-a-snitch. She(well, Dustin) walked over there. “Lisa!!! Hi!” She gracefully jumped down and held up her hand for a high five. “This game looks fun. There are prizes... and... and... and aiming spells at things!” Ash likes prizes, and she liked zapping things. Sooo... they should play it!!! “How does this work exactly?”

Needed to blend in the crowd and sneak away, Lisa Nam would be the girl to do it. Needed a robber to rob something from a dragon in the Lonely Mountain, move over Bilbo Baggins, Lisa Nam would be the ickle to do it! Yes, indeed! You could pay here in gold AND sweets thank you very much.

She glanced to her left and right, wondering where her friend was. And then she heard someone call her name! She turned around to see Ash with a taller person behind her (was this Ash's special friend?!?). "Ash! Hey!" she beamed, returning Ash's high five happily before STARING (a la Ginny Weasley the first time she saw Harry Potter at the Burrow) with WIDE EYES. What did people feed him? Or what did this guy eat to grow so tall. She gave him a small wave too.

At the mention of the game, Lisa turned her gaze from Ash and to the game in front of them. Well.... "It looks like one of those water games that you'd play at the muggle carnivals but with wands and snitches instead of pirate weapons and ships.." she explained, describing the last carnival that she had gone too. It had been nautical themed and on a boardwalk in Brighton.

"Wanna play? And does your very tall special friend want to play too?" she asked Ash before turning her gaze nervously towards the giant.

Because I definitely wouldn’t and I think that might be illegal.” Dustin nodded dutifully, still looking rather uncomfortable. “Theodore is also like five nine. Dustin is six six, and also he’s twenty-seven.” And dating Alex, although she wasn’t supposed to share that. She figured introductions were in order. “Lisa, this is my bodyguard Dustin. Dustin, this is my bestie Lisa. We know each other from Hogwarts.” Dustin nodded and waved, although he still looked like he wanted the ground to open and swallow him whole. “I say let’s play! Those prizes look fun. Dustin probably wouldn’t want to, but I bet he’d be good at it.” Dustin nodded. Hmmm. He was being very quiet right now. He needed to be cheered up. Maybe she’d bring him to a magical bookstore later. She figured he’d love that, since he liked reading and all. “What prize do you want, Lisa?” There were so many things to choose from.

”I’m not THAT tall.”

Yes, thanks Dustin. That was helpful. Sigh.

Are you really a fairy Princess that we must protect at all COSTS?" she asked curiously before eying her surroundings. Her father had bodyguards cause he worked in muggle government but Ash... Ash had bodyguards too? Interesting. She pouted, knowing that she should have known better. "I know... I also wanted to meet Theodore.. No offence, Mr. Tall Person," she added and nearly fell over when Ash continued talking and mentioned his age.

SO HE WAS TALL AND OLD?!!??!!?

She kept those thoughts in her mind but they cleared displayed on her face. She was not good at hiding pure shock when she wasn't thinking that she was acting. Oops?

"Nice to meet you, Dustin... Sorry for calling you Tall Person but as you can see... I am... tiny," she explained logically as she reached her hand out to the older person to shake his hand. See? She could do the whole respect thing. "Tiny but fierce. Lisa Nam."

Her eyes flicked to the prizes and nodded when Ash spoke. She really really wanted the Commemorative Wand because Ollivanders was her favourite shop; however, she knew the jersey would be the perfect gift for one of her friends. Jasper would love that and love her more for getting said shirt! Next time, he'd offer HER his jacket. Not that she was jealous. So jealousy reared its ugly head causing her to make. a decision. "A Professional Jersey... I can give that to Jasper!" she exclaimed with a smile and her cheeks turning a slight shade of pink.

"What prize do you want?"

I haven’t even ran away from you this WEEK.” She sensed that Dustin was about to respond to that with some very smart counterarguments that were almost certainly 100% true, so she almost spoke first... but apparently that wasn’t necessary. Um. She coughed politely, or maybe it was more like choking.

Hey! He wasn’t old! Dustin was twenty-seven... that wasn’t old at all!!! Ouch. “Um. No problem, Lisa.” He shook her hand very politely.

...she probably should have brought Alex and not Dustin to this. Alex was less sensitive to this sort of stuff. Oopsies. She focused on the prizes, making a very focused face. “I think I’d like a wrist holster or a broomstick kit. But if I got something, I’d keep it. Unless someone else wanted it, which I doubt they would.” She didn’t have many friends who were into quidditch or flying, not anymore. And she’d like the wand holster for herself. “You should go first. That way, if you miss, I can try and win you the jersey for Jasper too.” She could just buy whatever prize she wanted anyway.

Dustin took this opportunity(the girls looked distracted) to take a very subtle step back.

And here was another familiar face! "Hi, Miss Fox! And friends!" Camilo grinned, nodding at Ashley, her small friend, and tall friend. "Welcome to Zap-a-Snitch! Who wants to go first?" He knew by now that not everyone would be happy to see their former teacher working in Diagon Alley, so he was quite nervous to see their reactions. But really, what could he do? He just had to continue being his optimistic self and do his job! In any case, he was looking at a happy, genuinely laughing Ashley Fox for the first time, and the realisation kept his big grin plastered on his face.
