 Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?
Ash may or may not have skipped a few days of classes recently. Okay, she definitely had. She thought about skipping today’s classes, but she had already skipped yesterday and the day before that. So she was coming to class today, mostly because she didn’t want professors to look for her. She wanted to be left alone. Which was the opposite of what was going to happen if she skipped the entire week.
She took a seat in the front, careful to not be next to any of the people who had arrived. “Hey professor. Someone’s cheerful today,” Ash said to Recard. And that was the greeting for today. She chose to ignore the rest of the people here in favor of drawing the stuff on the board. Upstead seemed... somehow not the same? Somehow? She didn’t like them anyway, so it didn’t matter. Cambridge was downright irritating. Kinsay was Kinsay. Drawing was infinitely better than paying attention to any of them.
She finished her rough sketch and put her head on the desk. Just because she was going to school today didn’t mean she had to pretend to like it. |
