Tomasz was relieved that Mr. Upstead seemed to be occupied, as it was an excuse not to head over. It was not so much that Tomasz wanted to avoid his boss, but he did not know what was appropriate for a setting such as this with so many others around. He would much rather stay lurking hovering in his corner. Penelope seemed to have the same idea and Tomasz did catch her nod and briefly smiled at her in return.
He considered making his way over to the auror, but seeing as she was soon joined by the Head of the Department of Mysteries, Tomasz abandoned the thought quickly, stuffing his hands further into his pockets.
He would not be opposed to observing the entire event from this corner for the rest of the morning, but when he noticed the arrival of his friends and caught on to Kaiser's attempt to beckon him over, Tomasz resigned and began heading in their direction. "Hello," he offered a polite nod to Auror James, before putting a hand on Candi's shoulder in lieu of a proper greeting.
All things considered, Tomasz was not very gentle, but his entire face softened as he looked at the young child in Kaiser's arms. "This is Elio?" He asked, not having heard James' question.

With all of Calyx's eager tugging, it was surprising that they had made it to the muffin station in one piece. Nina wasn't very hungry, but despite this, she offered a polite smile to the woman offering the treats (Peggy). "Yes, I'll take one too," she added gently. Not for herself, but for Calyx who looked as though he wanted to eat every muffin on display. As they stood there, waiting for muffins, she took the opportunity to adjust his collar.
And now that they were standing still, Nina finally had the opportunity to look around. "Calyx, Alessandro and Gunnar are here," she nudged him, knowing he'd want to speak to Alessandro - Nina wouldn't mind catching up with Gunnar either. It had been ages and she always did appreciate his calm presence. And on the topic of catching up, was Calloway here yet? It would be alarming if he chose to skip out on an event centered around food.
Also alarming? The way the man next to them (Theodore) looked after having taken a bite of that muffin. Unfortunately, Nina's brief, judgemental look could not be helped, but she did quickly recover, offering him a practiced smile. "Which muffin did you choose?" Because Nina wouldn't be taking the same one.
