Tabatha was born to Ann-Marie and Paul Krauss in Melbourne, Australia. She has two older sisters Ottilie and Gwyneth, an older brother Crawford and a younger brother Ralph. She attended Tallygarunga Academy of Magic, where she studied hard due to her extremely competitive nature and excelled in divination and charms. After graduating from school, Tab decided not to receive further education at university. All those years of crazy competition was enough for a lifetime! Therefore, she worked as a catoptromancy guide at the local mirror gallery. She found that she liked this job because of her love of socialising and aptitude for divination.

Seeing all the magical mirrors at work made Tab wonder how exactly they were charmed. She searched for opportunities where she could learn the charm work involved in mirror making, and was offered an assistant position at Janus Galloglass in Diagon Alley. With the goal to become the best mirror charmer in the entire Wizarding World, she accepted the offer, packed her things and immediately moved halfway across the world from Melbourne to London. Here she met Isabel Marshall, a postgraduate student who frequented the store. Although Tab was usually in the backroom working on custom orders, she always ~happened to be~ by the displays when Isabel visited. They had some nice conversations that led to numerous dates … and their eventual marriage.

The couple adopted a boy named Aimeric and a crup named Jack, thus completing their family. Tab quit her job soon afterwards to take care of Aimeric. More than a decade later, when their baby boy was all grown up, she decided to return to work. She is now the proud owner of Janus Galloglass.

Tabatha is bold and creative, and likes any chance to exercise her wit. Showing quick thinking, using irony and saying puns are all things that she enjoys. She is very ambitious, and tries to remove rather than overcome obstacles that she might encounter when chasing her goals. Her ambition in recent years has been about the success of her child, so she unknowingly gave Aimeric a lot of pressure to do well in everything. But Tab also likes to have fun, by creating new types of magical mirrors, playing devil’s advocate in little debates with her wife and watching evening performances at the Phoenix Theatre.
