Exploring the grounds was something he had not done a lot of, was busy his first time and didn't have much opportunity to last year for.. obvious reasons. But this term was different. And exploring gave him a good reminder of that.

The Winged Boars also drew some interest because they were what made them safe now, right? He logically knew the answer was yes, but it didn't hurt to see and confirm with his own eyes.
