And after last term, when they'd obviously been forced to teach them terrible things about muggles that weren't true at all, adam was ready to learn more about actual magic. Bring on the homework! He was ready!
Looking around the train for anywhere to sit - it was weird not having leighton around to watch out for him - he stumbled across kinsay, talking to some younger kids who were clearly first years. Aww, look at her making new friends with the kiddos! Adam was proud and very clearly delusional. "kinsay! Hey! Who are your new friends?" he asked with a grin as he barged in to the conversation. He turned his attention to the girl when she introduced herself. "hi kinsay," he said with a smile. "your hair looks like sunshine." did she know that? It was yellow. Like dandelions. But some people didn't have an appreciation for dandelions, so he thought the comparison to the sun was safer. "i am a first year," he answered excitedly before turning to look at his new friend daniel. "are you a first year?" it was fun to make friends in the same year as him! He assumed that meant this girl, kinsay, was not also a first year. He turned back to her. "what year are you?"
and then someone else was standing in the compartment door. If alfie had been less extraverted he might have started to get overwhelmed, but actually he was quite excited to meet more people. "hello. I'm alfie!" Quote:

It seemed that alfie had different ideas though. Placing a finger on the word he was on yet again he was about to answer kinsay’s question about them being first years when alfie spoke and mentioned that her hair….looked like sunshine. ”it’s just blonde?” he observed while looking at her hair as well. Sunshine? What? ”you can pet her. But be careful , she’s not very friendly yet*” he closed his transfiguration book now , knowing that he wouldn’t be able to read any further. With an almost exaggerated sigh, he put the book next to him, cover down on the seat when another person entered the compartment. Merlin’s beard he just wanted to read t__t *feel free to say if the cat scratched you or not :3 ……….
To be quite honest, Kinsay was taken aback by Daniel’s dismissal. So much so that she didn’t even know how to respond to it (aside from frowning). So far, she liked Alfie way better. It was probably evident in the way she reacted to his compliment too, her whole face lit up!
… For all of three seconds before Daniel took the moment away from her. Proper upset with him now, Kinsay gave Daniel a pointed look, but otherwise ignored his comment or rather, tried to. ”Thanks, Alfie.” And when he confirmed her suspicions, Kinsay wasn’t at all surprised. She had a bad track record with first years. The ones last term made her feel horrible ways too. Except for, um, maybe Aries. He was always nice.
Alfie was nice too and Kiz was about to answer his question when Adam showed up. Loud and enthusiastic as always. It was a good thing they became proper friends last year because moments like these would've made Kinsay question everything. She gave her friend a little smile and scooted to the side so he could see everyone inside - she was still planning to leave to find her own compartment. ”And that’s daniel,” she pointed him out after Alfie had introduced himself, not at all trying to hide the way she felt about him so far.
And even though Kinsay wanted to correct Adam and tell him that the first years weren’t her new friends, she didn’t. Only because she recognized that it wouldn’t be a very nice thing for her to do. Maybe she’d just tell Adam in private so that she didn’t hurt anyone’s feelings. ”This is Adam. We’re third years.” She was talking to Alfie by the way. At least he was nice.
