Violet was caught up in her thoughts, going over everything that had happened over the past year (and last year, too, because, really, that's when it started) and also thinking about everything she'd seen and heard of this newcomer, Healer Poppy, who she didn't quite trust yet. Was there a test to see if someone had been polyjuiced, she wondered? Because considering the past couple of hears, maybe they should be using that on anyone coming onto the Hogwarts faculty from now on.

Not paying attention, Violet just turned into a car in the middle of the Hogwarts Express without looking very hard where she was going and absent-mindedly wandered into a convenient compartment, where she looked up to see two younger girls. Ah, she really didn't feel like riding with a bunch of young kids today. But wait--there was Mamie, she remembered her from the room and the battle. Well, she was okay, pretty level-headed for a kid. Violet decided she might as well sit there as anywhere.

"Mind if I sit here?" Violet said, but she was already stowing her smaller bag in an overhead compartment (but not before she withdrew a small volume and a pencil from it). Then she sat down.
