He got his food and carried it whilst looking for someplace to sit, when he spotted one of those fellows he had met at the gala. Brody, he thought this one's name was. Sitting with someone he vaguely knew seemed as good a place as anywhere else in the food court to sit.
"Do you mind if I join you?" he asked, gesturing at the empty chair across from the young man. "I think we met at that gala?"
Despite the light rumbling of his stomach, his food was ignored. For now. This Wizarding Communication essay was priority. Words were actually flowing and his hand seemed to fly across the paper. Brody wished that all essays could come this easily to him. Sometimes, he struggled to get his thoughts together or even to get the words to come. The young man finished up a sentence now and dotted an ‘i’ and crossed a ‘t’. Absently, he massaged the wrist of his writing hand in which there was a dull throb. Writing that quickly could hurt, you know. “Hmm?” Brody asked without looking up for a moment. Gala? What gala? He finally looked up and the words clicked. THAT gala! Brody remembered this guy quite clearly. Gabriel. Had he always been that good looking? Of course, the Coordinator had been busy flirting with Joseph at the time to notice. “Hi.’’ Brody leaned casually back in his chair, his eyes studying the other guy’s face. “Sure. Yep, Brody Hawthorne’s the name. And you’re Gabriel. I remember you.” He gestured at the vacant chairs at the table. Gabriel was free to choose which he wanted to sit on. |
