He pulled his feet onto the pedals of the bike again and started spinning the "wheels" as quietly as he could, still looking thoughtfully at the Auror. Aurors were smart. Surely she could explain what the problem was. "Why do you think things changed?" he asked, blissfully unaware of any risk to the questions he was asking.

His responses were...interesting. Penelope found it odd that he didn't seem to know, and it occurred to her that he could be playing dumb to get her to say something incriminating.

But she also wasn't convinced that that was the case either. He seemed genuine enough. Maybe it was possible he truly didn't know. Maybe he hadn't experienced wizards being cruel to non-magical people and those related to them. Maybe he hadn't paid attention in history class ~~not that she could fault him for that one because she hadn't either, ahem~~.

Or maybe he was just a good actor. Young, maybe, but she never liked when people underestimated the younger ones.

"No, no potions involved." Actually... Well, that was a thought she would file away for another time. "Things changed because the people in charge now decided they would. And the rest of us... We didn't see them pulling the strings until now. And that causes tension." Especially considering what they were wanting to change, but...she was trying to choose her words carefully.
