Constant Vigilance! O_O AWAKE! Mister Upstead Jake's children were both distracting and heart-wrenching. They reminded Gabriel of himself and his own brother, if they had ever been allowed in a store like this at that age. He didn't think they ever had, given there weren't a lot of stores like this in...wherever they'd lived when he was that age. Gabriel didn't really remember all the places. Rainforest kind of all looked the same, regardless of which city you claimed you were near.
But back on this awkward conversation, Gabriel returned his attention to the older man. The Real Auror. Such a cool guy. Who was saying...? Who was saying he could come on a patrol! Gabriel grinned like a four-year-old with an everlasting candle.
"Right, yes! Thank you, si--Jake," Gabriel said, correcting himself at the last moment to be less formal. "I look forward to it!" The young YATI refocused his attention on the shelves again. He still needed that silly abacus, didn't he? "Well, it was good running into you, Mister Upstead," he said, preparing to go get the abacus, pay and leave. And accidentally returning to the Mister Upstead address because he was no longer fully focused on Upstead. |
