In here, they could maybe play exploding snaps, or other card games and she could still talk to Kizzy about whatever whenever....just...now everyone ELSE was in earshot, too. Suffice to say, it limited the things she cared to say.

Still...there was one person she wanted to talk to that she hadn’t. Someone she’d stolen glances at more often than she cared to admit. He wasn’t handling things any better than the rest of them. All she wanted was to give him hugs and let him sit with her and Kizzy and while the hours away. It felt like ages since she’d last spoken to Sammy. She KNEW it was her fault, given the last conversation they’d had and a part of her still wanted to be angry.

But she was also tired.

Very tired.

Emm didn’t have the energy to be angry with the people she cared about anymore and knew it was time to wave the white flag of surrender and hope it wasn’t too late to make things better. In such cramped quarters, it wasn’t hard to spot her fellow blonde. The Gryffindor hesitated only a second before sucking in a deep breath then moving to the corner of the room.

Silently, Emmerson sank down beside Sammy. She didn’t say anything at first, uncertain what she COULD say. In the end, all she could think was, ...Hi.

Sammy wasn't in the mood.

In fact, Sammy hadn't been in the mood since he was stuck in here. The outgoing, smiley nature about him had disappeared and was replaced by a much more closed off version. One that sat on the floor, hugged his knees, and cried every now and again. There was a lot he wanted to do, but a lot that was far out of his reach and instead, left him with a sunken feeling in his chest. A sunken feeling that was only getting heavier and heavier with every day that drifted by and there was no stopping it.

There were times when he would look at his friends and Cece to make sure they were okay but this wasn't one of those times. It was because of this that he was surprised when a certain friend of his came to sit by him. A friend he hadn't really talked to after that fight in the corridor. Maybe he'd said things he didn't mean, maybe he hadn't. Who knows. All he knew was that he was giving her space and now, she was coming back to him.

Sound familiar?

But still, the tables were turning because now, he was the one who didn't know what she was here for. All he knew was that she was a little too silent right now, even after sitting down next to him. He briefly glanced at her but didn't say a word. No. She can start off whatever it was she had to say. Otherwise, maybe they could spend time sitting there in a slightly uncomfortable sile-

There it was.

"...... Hey."

A pause. A longer pause than normal.

"Odd spot you chose to sit in today."
