There was something about knowing those you worked with in International Cooperation if they really felt all this blood status shenanigans was for the greater good? What did that even mean?

She didn't have kids and wasn't even sure she knew anyone presently at Hogwarts, but there was that guy's outbursts too about kids not being allowed home for christmas? How was THAT for the greater good?

Rubbing her temples, she glanced up from her workspace to see her department head strolling through. It was now or never, but how exactly did one go about and ask something seemingly so touchy? Something that could get one killed? If there was one thing she learned from the gala it was that some these alliance people would do anything to get what they want. Was her department head part of the alliance? Was feigning to keep his position? "Morning boss," she said, instantly regretting her choice of greeting. Because all these thoughts in her head and that was the best she could muster out?!? Nothing more?? She was a strong, independent woman. Surely she ought to be able to say or ask something more.

Sip...errm.... He swallowed with a slight cough. Why was it nobody ever said anything until you had a mouthful? He cleared his throat and then smiled. "Morning Ms. Hamilton." He gave her a smile as he wiped a little tea off his chin. He hadn't forgotten the look he'd received across the room from Louise at the gala. He had been glad to see she had kept quiet though, because otherwise he might be looking for her like people were looking for Jordan and Nykto now. "How are things with you?" He paused to leaned over her cubicle wall, resting his cup on the ledge. "Anything problems with the new pile of VISA applications?"

He yawned. "Sorry, Radhika's still not sleeping through the night," he said referencing his daughter. There was a forced feeling to his casual air almost as he if he was trying to hard. After all, it was hard to feel comfortable with the word "half blood" on the nametag pinned to his lapel and a husband at home labeled "muggle born." Thankfully his daughter was safe with his parents at the moment instead of down in the daycare.
