"Things could have taken a terrible turn. Maybe Harry wouldn't have wanted to be the savior of the wizarding world and he could've given up fighting." Then what. Nothing would've turned out like it had. Every action has a reaction, whether it be positive or negative. One little change could cause a huge rippling effect in any situation.
