Violet had dutifully seated herself on the left side of the class and had been preoccupied with looking at Albus Dumbledore's long string of names--and she had thought herself pompous as a child for always introducing herself as Violet P. Blackthorne!
Suddenly she was brought out of her reverie by Professor Recard's question. Right, class. "He taught Transfiguration at Hogwarts before he became Headmaster," she answered, raising her hand. "And he was also skilled in alchemy, and discovered the twelve uses of dragon blood." She ought to remember that, her governess, Miss Howard, had repeated it often enough.
