Penelope frowned when she noticed the words half-blood on her name tag. What was that all about? She identified her mother’s name tag that said pureblood on it. Mum’s name tag seemed to be roughly the same quality as her own though, which was odd considering that Mum had been working at the ministry for much longer, over 10 years now. Penelope put on her name tag and ministry pin, still feeling uneasy about the blood status identification.

Now what was she supposed to do?
Adam had pulled out one of the two decent suits he owned. He’d paired it with his new glasses. They were a step up from the old coke bottle ones that made him look like a bug, but they still contained very very thick glasses and the purple tinting was new. It helped a little with the glares, but his eyesight was still horrible. In fact, had been standing at the table for a while trying to find his bag. There didn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to the outlay. Not alphabetical. Not by Department. Not even by time worked here….so what was he missing? He rubbed the spot above his left eyebrow wishing slightly that he wasn’t alone tonight or that he had found his work wife friend Laurel. She was always nice and kind and helped him out when he needed it.

”Ahhmmm…” he sighed loudly. Then he realized that he wasn’t alone at the table. With a very heavy German accent he asked, ”Excuse me, kan you help me find mein...” he waved his hand over the table.

And then he heard the one voice he was hoping not to hear tonight. He stiffened slightly, trying to fight his flight instinct. ”Boss, nice to see you…” he said vaguely although truthfully he wasn’t at all nice to see him. The last few times Airey had done nothing but yell at him and threatened to have them all fired.
