For once, it wasn't the people already present that captured his immediate attention. His dark eyes immediately honed in on the hard-to-miss fountain that was very much new. Dante's face remained like that of a blank canvas, as it almost always was. Most, he was sure, would be surprised and maybe even concerned by the sudden change, the symbolism behind it all, the fact that a new era was upon them. He, of course, was neither surprised nor concerned. This was perhaps the first Ministry orientation he was eager to attend.

The lapel pins and nametags were a nice touch, he had to admit as he attached them to his suit. The silver pin and nametag was certainly popping out against is black suit. While he normally wasn't one to freely give out his name to just anyone, he oddly enough didn't mind today. Perhaps the words 'Head Obliviator' and 'Pure-blood' had something to do with it.

Not phased by the décor (this certainly was not his first gala) or the new fountain, he helped himself to one of the beverages and observed those who were already there with unblinking eyes. He was amused to say the least, but didn't linger on them very long before his attention shifted to the man with the cane. Dante didn't remain in the sidelines as he normally would have done and instead leisurely walked over to him. "Good evening, Minister," he said, a dash of a French accent coming through as he raised his glass slightly in greeting. "I must say, the setup this year is quite impressive."

After the events of the last orientation, Frankie wasn't looking forward to this year's event. What was supposed to have been something enjoyable ended up not being the case, and he had low standards this year in spite of how elegant everything seemed like it was going to be based on the invitation. Odds were something would go wrong and that somehow would equate to being an Auror problem.

So the blond arrived alone to this year's orientation, dressed in the best suit he had (which honestly had to be retrieved from the depths of his closet). He thought about asking his wife to be at his side, but he wagered he would end up needing to help with security. Enjoying himself was likely going to be at the bottom of the priority list, whereas being alert and ready to act needed to be at the top. As long as he got to help himself to a few desserts before chaos ensued, he'd be fine with that.

His stomach churned, however, the very instant he took in the entirety of the room. As grandiose as it at was, there were many red flags. His badge featured his half-blood status for reasons unknown to him; the tapestries, he was willing to bet galleons on, flashed a man that seemed ominously familiar; and the Fountain of Magical Brethren was no more and replaced by... Bypassing the buffet tables, which was not a Frankie Paton thing to do, he couldn't help but be lured over to the base of the fountain and wish he had never shown up to the gala at all.
