Though the first year remained on edge, the lack of lackies made it a little easier to focus. Not a lot, but enough that he was at least dating his parchment and titling it: transformation. He was not feeling too optimistic about his chances this lesson with the execution. Inanimate objects he felt pretty confident with...these particular branches of the subject, which he had a very very keen interest in, was much less so and he found himself looking around the hockey rink again. Were they turning something into a hockey puck? Would...that even be allowed? Hockey...it was, er, it was a muggle sport.
Suddenly Atlas was going off on all kinds of tangents and he found himself wishing he could just transfigure himself into a demiguise and disappear.
The sentiment only increased hearing some of the responses of his classmates - murder for fun?!?!??! - and the Gryffindor found himself feeling a little sick. Something that was hard to do considering that he had skimmed meals yet again. He also found some fundamental flaws with some of the answers, like transfiguring yourself into a creature. Without human dexterity...how could you reverse the spell? And with the inability to perform human speech...you would also have to be proficient in nonverbal magic and not JUST nonverbal magic but nonverbal Human Transfiguration. That sounded ... mindboggling to him. Appealing...but mindboggling.
In the end...Atlas decided to remain quiet, though his eyes did fall on Nem who mentioned spiders in jars and for a BRIEF moment the Gryffindor found himself liking that answer. Only because he liked spiders because of his own choice pet of a tarantula. But then his thoughts went spiraling right on back to animals being people in disguise and he was right back to feeling a little sick. Perhaps even looking a tiny bit pale in the face...so head back down to his notes it was.
