Jessica wasn't really that worried about liking his mother. She disliked most people, didn't she? So if there was another person added to the list, it was fine. She was so used to dealing with people she didn't like that it hardly bothered her anymore.

No, no. The worry lie in whether she liked Jessica

Cut off communication? With his mother?! Merlin. "You seem like such a...passive person, I'm very surprised to hear you perpetuate any sort of conflict with someone related to you, much less the woman who birthed you," Jessica admitted. Spending so much time with Davie was like this; you learned something new and interesting about his personality all the time. He was an onion; nuanced and layered.

"So you'll be present for it?" That would make her feel a lot more comfortable at least. But then, David might have to witness the nightmare of a tea time between them if it would downhill fast. "I can help you make it look...more presentable. If you want. Not that it isn't - " she smiled. "You keep a clean house. I just meant...give it some...character. If you wanted." David's style fit him perfectly. But would mother bear approve of it? Her brain was moving much too fast for her to keep up with the recent panic that had plagued her soul. At least she was calming down just a little bit.

Had she been joking about the luck potion? Maybe. Maybe not. She did know it would make her feel a WHOLE lot better during the whole...tea experience. She eyed the apple as David spoke, letting out a nod and a sigh. "I know. I've never met someone's parents before." She admitted. As David would know, she hadn't had a true relationship in yeaaaars and years, and before that her relationships had all been casual and kept in their place. She had no time for a budding romance when her life was hectic and in the public eye. SO relationships were best kept at that fun, casual stage. No parents. No kids. No moving in together.
