It was safe to say that Sammy was confused. Sure, he'd heard that people make all kinds of promises and do crazy things for ~love~ but he'd never ever ever thought that breathing would be part of that. Didn't you NEED to breathe? And how could you give up your breathing for someone? He just..... didn't get-
Oh, she was done.
Right on cue, Sammy started clapping and cheering along, just like an audience member should. "WOOOOO! YEAH!" It was weird to be the only one cheering - and the only one in the audience in the first place - but that didn't matter. He could appreciate some piano playing, right? Even if he didn't know anything about the piano himself.
It was only when the girl turned around that he encountered a lightbulb moment. This girl......... looked familiar. Like, same house familiar. Or maybe same class familiar? He didn't know. He just knew that this wasn't the first time he was seeing her face.
The second year smiled back at her, trying to look as casual as possible while also silently hoping she had never told him her name before. Because he was not remembering it right now. "Hey, there." Pause. "Great piano playing. You could be a musician. Maybe start your own band, even."
