Oh.

Oh oh oh oh.

He was...asking her to...be official....and the thought of it happening here, in the food court of the Ministry of Magic where they both worked, made her laugh. Not that she thought it was a bad decision! It wasn't. This was, after all, how they had managed to get so close. It was just such a David Truebridge thing to do. And Jessica couldn't stifle the chuckle into her hands. "Of course, David," she said simply, shaking her head at his stuttering and eating a bite of her salad. She crunched to herself, watching him with amusement. "You got yourself all worked up, didn't you." The sly way her lips spoke the words meant she was amused by the effect she had had on him as well as enjoying just how adorable his behavior was. As intellectual as David was, bless him, he still got nervous about things like this. Things involved with ~romance.

"Let me repeat. Of course. And your gift has me quite smitten, good sir," she patted the pot gently before taking another forkful of salad lettuce. "To celebrate, you should come by after we get off today. My brother won't be home again." David should take that for what it was.
David definitely didn't know how much of himself he was giving away in his small gestures. He was too caught up in his own thoughts! But, at least, he felt that he could be himself around Jessica, and so he wasn't as guarded as he normally might have been in other locations around the Ministry of Magic.

"I did," he admitted with a small, relieved little sigh that she accepted his.... er, request. A rare smile broke out on his face then, especially as she repeated her yes, her appreciation for the plant, AND extended him an invitation. Oh how he enjoyed invitations from Jessica, to see her at her flat. Heh. Yes. "It's a plan, then," he decided, trying not to grin TOO much as he tucked into his lunch again. Honestly, he was smiling so wide, it was kind of making his face hurt?? Is this how happy Hufflepuffs felt all the time?

Anyway. David tilted his head to himself and munched away at his sandwich for a few bites, before another idea occured to him. "Oh, and, I mentioned you to my mother," he slipped in lightly, between bites of cucumber and hummus sammy. "She would like to meet you for tea sometime." Just tea, a casual meeting, no big deal. David continued with his lunch as though this request was nothing (because to him, it was).
