▣ Short description: Coby, the oldest biological son of Bernard and Rachel Rider-Mae, is a Nerd™. He cares deeply and freely about everything that is important to him, from comic books to musicians to games to his friends, and can talk anyone's ear off about most topics under the sun. He is friendly but timid, introverted and introspective but easy to get along with once one overcomes the initial awkwardness. He compares himself to his peers often, as success and achievements are important to his mother, and by default to him as well. His mother is his world, he loves her and he is terrified of her and the last thing he wants to do is let her down.

Coby grew up mostly without any close friends, preferring to read and solve puzzles on his own while the toddlers and children around him created friendships. He often wonders, still, how it is that he now has so many friends, and will usually attribute this development to him being a 'friend of a friend' to most of his acquaintances. He is a late bloomer in every sense of the word, but would much rather not have to deal with anything more adult than studying for his OWLs.
