Quinn had heard about the flying from his aunt—she had done it in her own time at Hogwarts and was pretty good, actually. Quinn, on the other hand, wasn't so keen on it. In fact, he would rather not do it at all. "The flying... doesn't sound like something I'd like, honestly. I think I'd rather have my feet on the ground," he said, chuckling nervously.

Quinn turned to look at Violet, pulling it into his lap. "Oh, Violet? No, this is just a regular dahlia from my garden. The letter said we could bring pets, so I asked if I would be able to bring a plant—not exactly a pet, really, but not not a pet—and they said yeah. And Violet is one of my standout flowers, so I just had to bring it. I am really excited for Herbology, though! So many new plants, maybe I'll even be able to take some seeds home and plant some in my garden. You know, I went into Noltie's in Diagon Alley over the summer, and they had these really beautiful flowers called Puffapods, and I really wanted them because they came in all different colors, but then I found out that the seeds exploded if they fell from too high and on top of that they were pretty expensive, so..." Quinn stopped himself and blushed a bit. "Dang it, sorry, it happened again..." Quinn also tended to ramble when talking about things he really liked. This was a big part of the reason he wasn't the most popular back in school, and he was really trying to curb that impulse.
