Quinn looked back at his things. He really didn't want to bother the girl anymore than he already had by asking to sit in her compartment. "Uh, no, I think I'll be able to handle this. Thanks, though." Quinn shook Eden's hand, not realizing it was to help with his luggage. "I'm Quinn, very nice to meet you."
He set Violet down in the seat next to the window, plopped his satchel and small watering can next to it, then struggled (but managed) to shove his trunk overhead. Quinn sat down across from Eden with a huff. "Is this... your first year...too?" he asked, pausing for breath in between words.
Eden shook Quinn's hand, going with the flow, and without thinking about it gave him a little side eye as he huffed, puffed, and struggled to put his things away. To each their own. She could see that trunks were meant to go above their heads, but she didn't feel like wresting with hers twice - carrying it onto the train had been enough of an ordeal. So it was a footrest now. "
No snacks? Lame," she teased lightly as she pulled out a bag of spicy nacho cheese Doritos out of her bag.
"Lucky for you, I've got us covered." For now. A snack trolley visit would be happening.
Oooh. A fellow first year. What a relief. She hadn't met anyone else yet who was new to all this. She wondered privately if his parents were magical or if he was from a
normal muggle family like her. She hadn't even been able to tell her parents yet - all their mail was monitored and if she just told them in person with no proof who knows how concerned they'd be for her mental wellbeing. "
Yeah, it's my first year too. I'm a muggleborn." The last sentence was said with pride.
