It was a busy street, but Ashley had gone unnoticed. While she did stand out, she looked so unobtrusive that the eye would pass by her after lingering for only a moment. So she chose this spot to lean against a wall and read. Not a book, obviously(She used to like to read, but then she went to Hogwarts and no longer had much of a desire to learn). She read a letter. From a muggle.
Dear Ashley,
It was so nice to see you this summer. If was great to hang out and get some surfing in, even if you had to leave so soon. Even if it was cold and dangerous. That's the best kind of fun. Anyways...
Blah blah. You know the rest. Usual friendship stuff.
You know what Ashley needed? More friends. If she couldn't see her muggle friends, then she would find SOMEONE because she refused to go to Hogwarts without people who would make it tolerable. Not even friends. At least enemies who wouldn't let her die.
She needed a distraction. Otherwise, she was going to stand here forever and do nothing and think about everything. |
