Heath had just put the finishing touches on his television when Professor Schmoe moved on to the next activity. He was getting excited! This news presentation was a great opportunity to hone his acting skills, but first he needed to look the part. After perusing the boxes at the front of the room for a few minutes, he chose a dark blue blazer and maroon tie. Did male reporters use makeup, or was that just for the ladies? If television was anything like the stage, the answer was probably yes, but Heath had no idea what he needed or how to apply it. So he was just going to ignore that part.
It felt like he was forgetting something else, but what was it? Oh, right! The mic. He clipped one of the fake microphones to his lapel. Thank goodness these were the clip-on kind, not the headset mics used onstage. Those things were annoying! With his mic in place, he was ready to go. Now all he needed was a co-anchor!
“Partners?” he asked Claudine upon returning to his seat. His voice dropped as he added, “If you like, we could structure our presentation so that I do most of the talking.” He knew how she hated public speaking. “By the way, how do I look?” he asked. “Should I tie my hair back or leave it down?” He gathered his hair behind his head in one hand to give her an idea of how it would look tied back.
