They walked in silence for a few minutes. ”I live in Chinatown. It’s not far.” He didn’t mention that it was a 3 floor walkup. He had planned on making a late-night frozen pizza to soak up some of the beer he had been drinking at the pub. ”Did you eat?” He wasn’t very good at small talk.
After a few minutes of walking, Ilse realized she was holding onto him and quickly dropped her hand, feeling her face turn red. ”Sorry I didn’t realize I was...” Yep, as usual she couldn’t finish a sentence. When he explained he lived in Chinatown, she just nodded her head. Merlin, they were going to think she was mental, walking through Chinatown in a formal gown. Her attention came back to Lon when he asked if she’d eaten. She thought for a moment, trying to remember the last time she’d eaten and realized it hadn’t been since breakfast, but she didn’t want to be an even bigger burden, so she lied. ”Yes, thanks.”
