She hadn't meant to offend the first year who had ALSO been making a flat screen, and Phoebe meandered her way in the girl's direction when she went to collect some of the combs and make-up bits and whatever to anchor-ify herself. "I like your TV, actually, and I was just giving my friend Bernie there a hard time because she's very smart and that makes her annoying. Come be my co-anchor, ok? I can show you how to make the VERY BEST cat eye. I've been practicing. I won't even show anyone else, so we'll be completely unique."
As Ivy finished her question to Professor Schmoe, Phoebe had approached her. Ivy now looked up from her drawing to see what the older girl wanted. It seemed she didn’t think Ivy was a dummy after all, which made her feel a bit better. She pulled the cardboard remote she’d made out from under her sketchbook and showed it to her.
”New TV’s don’t have buttons because they’re all on the remote, and it has lots of buttons,” she explained.
When Phoebe told her to come work with her, she bit her lip as she thought about it, then nodded and closed her sketchbook. Stowing it in her backpack, she stood up from her desk to go with Phoebe.
”What’s a cat eye?” she asked curiously.
