As she entered, she gave him THE LOOK with as much seriousness as a small 11-year-old girl could hold in her face, then turned on her heel with a huff without even saying hello to him. She sat in the very back of the classroom, folded her arms over her chest, and siiiiiighed so that everyone would not she was not pleased. Looking out a window, she determinedly ignored the cardboard boxes. She forced herself to not be curious. She didn’t care. Stupid boxes.

They were kind of big stupid boxes.

Some of the stupid boxes at the front were open.

She should have looked inside before she sat down.

Everything came in stupid boxes in the Muggle world. Stupid toys. Stupid computers. Stupid music players.

Ivy missed her music player...

Maybe they were going to listen to Muggle music. Or do Muggle crafts! Or use Muggle art supplies!

Wait. No. Stupid boxes.
Finneas licked his finger to turn the page, only looking up when he heard the fist arrival making her way into the classroom. "He-hello, Ms. Tay--"

.....

"... Lor?"

Errrrrrr.............? Was it just him or was she a little off today? Perhaps it had been a rough morning. Yes. That must be it.

Possibly, but as it was presently, it was a cold day which was why she was dressed warmly over her school uniform. Wait a minute. Was that the smell of oranges? And pine? That was quite the interesting combination. Also, what was with the setting of the class? This was Claudine’s thoughts as she eyed the space at the front. The pile of boxes was even more curious. She said nothing out loud about them, however.

“Good morning, professor,’’ the Slytherin greeted Schmoe. She gave him a smile too, on her way to choosing a seat at the usual back row.

Fortunately, the next student was far more welcoming than the first (which was quite ironic considering Claudine had taken a very long time to warm up to him when she had first started). Oh how the times change.

He welcomed her in with a wave of his hand and a nervous smile of his own. "Good morning to you as well, Ms. Blaze."

She grinned at the professor. The reason for her happiness? She wasn't dying. There was still time for that though. She took out a muggle marker and started doodling waves and flowers on her arm. Happy drawings. Because Ashley was happy.
It seemed as Ms. Taylor's rough morning was an isolated, individual occurrence, fortunately. For the next student to make their way inside arrived with plenty of cheer. He greeted her with a smile before chuckling under his breath. "Errrr, though I suppose I could tell you now... But it might ruin the fun, don't you think?" He attempted to wink. Attempted being the key word. AnYwAy. Fun was in the mystery was it not? Also, er, #spoilers? Yes. Let's go with that.

Typical, she had a list of things that she needed to do or check on to make sure that the ideas she wanted to have happen would happen. Walking with a tiny itty bitty pep in her step she slid into the classroom stopping to read the rules on the board.

No anarchy. She let a very loud pft come out of her mouth before she slid behind a desk. "Morning Professor" She did have the other rule covered, however behind her grey vest she did have on her bedazzled tie and it made her smile more to know that.
IT was just the fall, but as it happens... winter follows autumn and then comes spring! That's how the seasons work. Heh heh heh. Har har har. Ho ho ho. AnYwAy. Finneas took no notice of the loud 'pft' in regard to the rules, but he did hear her chipper greeting. He looked up from his periodical as he reached the end of a paragraph and gave her a mighty solute in reply. "Good morning, good morning!"

Now what could that be about? Only time would tell. The Gryffindor pulled out all of her necessary supplies and waited for the rest of her classmates to arrive. In the meantime, she tried to guess the topic of the day’s lesson.
Ah, here was one student he never had to worry about. Her arrival elicited a smile from young Mr. Schmoe and he gave her a hearty wave before returning his eyes to the paper he had before him. "Good to see you, Ms. Lindsay."

Perhaps he ought to set the paper down. Yes. That's what he was going to do. Just as he began to fold up the periodical, he saw another student making their way inside. Excellent. They almost had a full house! "Hello, Ms. Blackthorne. Pick a seat, any seat!" He grinned, returning his eyes back to his folding technique and setting the paper down neatly in front of him.

She skipped into the room, excited for this morning's lesson, and stopped at the sight of the boxes. 'Were they moving or something?'

Slowing down to walk, she greeted Professor Schmoe with a pleasant smile "Good Morning Professor." Then, selecting a seat, near her new found friend Ashley

Oh! But the crossword caught his eye. "Good morning, student!" He grinned, looking up and hoping she'd enjoy the joke. An oldie but a goodie. He used it at least once every lesson. One day he'd get someone to laugh. AnYwAy. Finneas checked his watch to confirm he still had some time to attend to the crossword before he needed to start class.

They should do their secret handshake! Well. They didn't have a secret handshake, but they should develop one. Would he do that? Best friends forever?

"Why are you opposed to anarchy? Sometimes dictatorships are corrupt and run by a Headmaster who leaves babies in the dangerous dangerous forest. Anarchy is better than murder."
Hmmm... What's a six letter word for animated.... "Phoebe!" Finneas let out an awkward laugh as he looked up at the fourth year with mild unease. "Errrrr... Hello," he greeted her in a volume far quieter than hers. Why was she shouting??? Was there a fire???

He looked around, before looking back at her. The question left him rather stumped. "Er."

....... This was a hypothetical scenario, right? Ha. Children and their imaginations, amiright?! "Anarchy is better than murder.... Yes." He agreed with some hesitance. "Preferably we will have neither in our, er, classroom. You may... Add 'no murder' to the list as well, if you would like. The marker is, er, at the board."

The only way he’d hit someone with a textbook (or any other object, for that matter) was if he urgently needed to defend himself, and he was definitely not an anarchist! There was no reason to worry about him!

What did catch his attention were the cardboard boxes and the smell of pine and orange peels. It smelled Christmasy in here, so much so that for a moment, Heath wondered if the boxes contained supplies to make Christmas wreaths. Then he remembered it was February, so that was unlikely. The smell transported him back to the Christmas Eve sleepover from last term and… He shook his head, willing himself not to get lost in the memory. Looking around for a distraction, he spotted the periodical Professor Schmoe was reading. “Good morning, Professor,” he greeted. “Reading anything interesting?”

With the pleasantries out of the way, he joined Claudine in the back row. “Hi,” he said quietly, taking the seat beside her.
Yes, well, Finneas was hoping the rules would be understood every time, but sometimes people got competitive and suddenly your innocent game of trashketball turns into the third great wizarding war, so er, best be safe?

"Working on the crossword, Mr. Jones! It's a challenging one today," he sighed as he looked back down at it. Perhaps he ought to revisit it when he had some more time.

And all the screaming and chaos--oh." Now that she thought about it, Schmoe hadn't had much fun during that class. It was the first time she ever really saw him angry.

"Phoebe's right though. We're gonna need some if Headmaster Trent tries sacrificing us to acromantulas again."

So maybe the rule would only be good while they were in class.
Hmmmmm. A seven letter word for chaos....

He tapped his chin thoughtfully, only to hear young Emmerson make her entrance. He could always hear her arrival from corridors away. Difficult to miss, she was. Ms. Anarchy extraordinaire. "Errr..." The way these kids spoke about their Headmaster these days... It was like they were describing another man entirely.

"I'm, er, glad to see you brought your imagination today, Ms. Cambridge. You will be needing it!"

Was his conscience eating away at him, absolutely. But Josh was determined to ignore it...which only meant he was going to explode in apology at some point.

Iiiiiiiiiin any case, Josh made his way into the classroom and found himself a seat beside a Hufflepuff girl (Ivy!) just as his eyes glazed over the display...of sorts.

Oh...no. Or as the British put it, oh bloody hell.

"Uh...heya hiya...professor," he greeted belatedly while looking at the make up. It wasn't anything NEW to him per say and there had been a small handful of girls who had practiced their craft or whatever on his face...but also...no thank you?

Yes, well, apparently it was difficult to remember the rules. So.

"Hello, Mr. Miller." He greeted the young man in return. Hopefully he would be setting a positive example for his peers this time around?

Although she had to agree with their sentiments - the prefect was still stunned by the Headmaster's behavior in the forest that day.

"Morning, Professor. Whatcha reading?" Avalon asked as she slid into an empty seat. Her Head of House seemed thoroughly engrossed in whatever that periodical was. She looked curiously at the cardboard boxes, silently hoping that today wouldn't be a repeat of the last seminar's chaotic recycling game.

You know who else was silently hoping that today wouldn't be a repeat of the last seminar's chaotic recycling game?

This guy.

"Good morning, Prefect Sinclair. I was, er, catching up with yesterday's news, but errr... It looks like it's about time to set that aside." Nevermind the fact that he had abandoned the news to work on the crossword.

AnYwAy.

Finneas checked his watch and waited a few more minutes incase there were any stragglers before he set his periodical aside and stood up from his chair. Best to get the introductions done quickly because it was always the most uncomfortable part for him (and also for you).

"Errhem," he stood, clearing his throat. "THE DAILY PROPHET!"

Full stop.

And then he smiled. "One of the longest running and most reliable sources for wizard kind to get their weekly news delivered to them at their doors all with the convenience of owl post." But Professor Schmoe? What does this have to do with Muggle Studies? Hold your hippogriffs!! We're getting there.

"But how do muggles stay in the know? Where do they get their news from?" His eyes swept over the room. "Plenty of answers, er, try to stick to one each, please."

OOC: Hiii frens thanks for coming! Class starts here, any late arrivals will face the IC consequences. First question is up. I'll be back in another 24-28 hours to move us along.
Q1: How do muggles stay in the know? Where do they get their news from. Remember, please stick to ONE answer each.
