His throat jumped temporarily when a voice first spoke but he recognized it immediately. Ilya hated Bernie, did everyone know that? No? He should make this more common knowledge then. He definitely hated her now that she followed him and scared the BEEJEEZUS out of him. Okay, fine, 'hate' was a strong word, and not completely truthful to how he felt towards his friend most of the time. But Merlin was it easy to let himself harbor unpleasant feelings for the Gryffindor sometimes!

"You wish." he gave her a side-eyed look. "What are you doing here creeping in like a blue-eyed rat?" He paused, raising his hand dramatically indicating he had something to correct. "Actually, no. Sorry. A blue-eyed hag." There.
