Sophie finished attaching the letter to Persephone's leg. She told the owl to fly back home, and she hooted once in response. Then she jumped up and flew out through one of the many open windows.

"Yeah. It's nice. Weird tho. I'm the oldest kid. And the first in my family to ever go to Hogwarts. Muggle-born I guess. Pretty owl you have." She stared out the window after the owls. "Animals are cool. Just like surfing and drawing and reading and spells. Those are all cool things." She paused for a moment. "Hogwarts is awesome- the people are so nice. it has almost everything I could ever want." Almost. "What's your favorite part of Hogwarts?"
