"This place is cool. Do you think i can have another?" she asked as she began unwrapping the chocolate. It smelled nice. Maybe she could sneak the whole bowl into her pockets. She'd just have to find a way to make it not melt.
Not thirty seconds later, she turned to Maya once more and whined. "It smells in hereeeeee." Lisa blinked when Maya mentioned that the shop sold things to make you prettier. Why on earth would Maya need to be in here? she wondered as she walked towards her. "But... you don't need any of this stuff. You're pretty anyway." She truly meant those words. Lisa really looked up to her older siblings and loved her so so much. She loved all of her siblings. She really did but Maya was just good at everything. Super smart and patient. Opposite of her but a nice compliment. "The bottles are pretty though," she said, reaching for the nearest glass bottle but couldn't get to it because her hand was in Maya's.
At Maya's suggestion, Lisa beamed. She liked pranks. "Noah would look good in baby pink just like my dress," she said, pointing to her gingham dress. She gasped. "OOH. Or... Or! We could.... We could dye Evan's hair GREEN. Like a mint green. He could pull it off." Did Maya really want to give her sister another chocolate? Not really, no. She had experienced her sister bouncing off the walls once and it wasn't exactly pleasant. But... on the other hand... it would take a little bit for the sugar to really kick in. By then, surely it would be Noah who was watching Lisa? So with that... "Of course Lees," Maya said, giving her sister a big smile. She picked a few more out of the bowl and held one out to Lisa. "I'll hold onto a few while we look around... and afterwards, we can get ice cream to get rid of the smell."
Because by then it would definitely be Noah in charge. "We won't tell anyone how much chocolate you're eating here though, okay?" Maya didn't want to get into trouble with their parents.
When her sister told her she was pretty, Maya felt her face warm up. She had never really viewed herself as particularly pretty. She thought herself normal and rather plain. "Thanks Lisa," she said, feeling a bit good about the compliment even though it was from her younger sister. Maya ruffled her sister's hair a little before smoothing it out. They were outside and didn't want her sister to have her hair look like a bird's nest when they didn't have a brush on hand. "The bottles are very pretty." She picked up the bottle Lisa had been reaching for and handed it to the girl, releasing the younger one's hand. "Be careful with them... let's try not to break anything."
Seeing her sister's beam made Maya fill up with joy. It was always nice to make her younger sibling smile the way her older ones did. It felt like she was doing something right. "We could pour some of the stuff into Noah's and Evan's shampoo so they won't know it's us." Maya started to read the labels on the bottles, looking for one that said hair and color.
