The itching of the cheek persisted, his nails almost digging into his cheek now while the young Unspeakable pushed with his questions. However, the man had a bit of a change of heart. Perhaps he could use the one. "Have you ever taken an inventory before?" he questioned skeptically with a cursory glance over towards Mr. Truebridge. "If not, I suppose today is your lucky day as you will be learning on the fly. You can start with that box over there." One of his fingers from the hand that had been scratching his cheek pointed towards one on the floor, a bit of skin caught beneath his finger nails unknowingly. Quote:

He was looking forward to this task, and obediently moved to the box on the floor, following the pointed finger.
He looked up at the man, but wasn't alarmed by Flamsteed's face until he saw the scratch (or was it a gash?!) on his cheek. "Professor!" Davie gasped at him. He couldn't help it, but the sight of the sudden gash had startled him! He shook his head and looked away respectfully, calmly stating, "You're bleeding, sir, there on your cheek."
Er. Surely he had a pocket square to press against that spot. Did he have eczema or something? David's brows knitted in concern as he glanced back at the man. Was this what aging was like? He wanted to stare but also didn't want to get caught staring, so he looked back to the box he was assigned to, and kneeled down properly now to try to get a look at the runes on it. Quote:

His eyes widening a bit, though one of his lids seemed to droop a bit as wax may over the rim of a lit candle, he pressed his entire palm to his cheek and pulled away to see there was no blood at all on his cheek. However, there was an absolutely unsavory looking strip of skin stuck to his fingers that had him shoving up his sleeve and checking the absolutely ridiculous sundial watch he was forced to use. "This absurd thing," he groaned as he yanked the sleeve back down and then urgently began patting his pockets until his brows arched and he turned his back to Mr. Truebridge. How could he have lost track of time like that?
Retrieving a phial from the expansive enchanted breast pocket of the suit jacket, Airey quickly downed its content and grimaced with tense shoulders as the potion began taking its effect.
