Awwwwh!}, loving the way he seemed to be eager for his lemondrops to be put directly into his mouth. OH. MY. MERLIN. WHY WAS HE SO PRECIOUS? Claudine was all too sure that she was going to melt into a puddle soon if Albus kept this up. While he ate, she would pet him, scratch his belly and talk to him. Lemondrop, drop top, raindrop, crockpot, cooktop, she sang softly. Lemondrop, drop top, raindrop, crockpot, cooktop.

At least this is what she kept doing until the gnomes showed up. Weasel pets? Jarveys weren’t weasel pets. Nor were they stupid. The next thing she knew was Wills running around with his pitchfork and shouting at gnomes. Oh… that explained the weasel comment.

Uh, what?

Willis wanted them to actually go into that pile of mud? Listen, Claudine was used to dealing with creature poop and wasn’t the least bothered by it. The mud though? That meant that she could get it in her hair. Still… Williams was right: they didn’t want the gnomes to be hurt, just dizzy until they couldn’t find their way back to the pit.

Sighing, Claudine looked down at Albus. “You ready to help me snag a gnome?’’ Now that she was thinking about it, the girl thought this was excellent training for her future. Experience was golden, after all. She edged closer to the pit, swiping her nose with a tissue. Goodness, the mud was so… yucky. Her arms lowered and she encouraged Albus: “Off you go, little fellow.’’ Sweet, sweet Albus <3
No no no no no, no, no no. Albus did not want to snag a gnome. He didn't want to do anything but lay here and have his belly rubbed, please!

The older albino jarvey blinked his red eyes and toddled onto the ground, then flopped there at Claudine's feet, keeping her from moving unless she picked him up and wore him like a stole. "Nitwit, blubber, oddment, treat?" Treats, please, no work. Have pity on him. He was old.

Wait…it wasn’t a potato after all. Potatoes didn’t blink or clamber out from the mud of their own free will.

Maybe it was the way that Pretzel’s eyes seemed to be drawn to the gnome that made him want to venture towards the mud pit instead of the toys OR maybe it was simple curiosity. Either way, Ewan made his way towards the pit without hesitation, his hand already reaching up for the Jarvey on his shoulder in anticipation.

“Okay Pretzel, how about we go have some fun? Think you can get a few of them out of there without destroying them? There’ll be a few dead mice in it for you if you don’t destroy them?” and as if to prove a point, he pointed towards the bucket of dead mice just so the Jarvey got the picture. Was he starting to get attached to the little Jarvey? Sure. Would he try to take it home with him? Maybe.

With this hopefully clear, he jumped into the mud pit without hesitation, ready to help Pretzel or stop her if she got too excitable.
Oh Pretzel was ready for fun! FUN! FUN! "LET THE GAAAAAAMES BEGINNNNNNN!" the jarvey declared in her ridiculous, squeaky, high-pitched voice. Could she catch a gnome without destroying it? ....maybe. Could she catch one period was the question, because Pretzel didn't have the best attention span for a jarvey.

She launched herself off the boy's shoulders at the same time he jumped into the mud pit. Wasn't this FUN? "FUN fun FUN now that daddy took the T-bird AWAY!" And on the last syllable, Pretzel pounced on top of a potato head that was poking out of the ground, then did a dance/spin on top of the potato. Er, gnome. "BANANANANANAAAAAAAA!"

While the Gryffindor was loving her Mollywobbles time, she was willing to share. The jarvey surely had enough love to go around. Of course we can take turns.” She handed Mollywobbles over to Heath and watched as they had their bonding moment.

This...was...so...much...fun! They didn’t even have to take the jarveys through an obstacle course. They could just enjoy the animals. And then.......the gnomes happened. All of the jarveys seemed to perk up once they saw the gnomes. It was as if someone had yelled “Squirrel”. Naya looked at Heath. “I guess we’re going to have to get dirty To the mud pit?” She stood up and prepared to accompany her partner and their jarvey to the pit. This was going to be interesting, messy and interesting. “Ready for a little hunting Mollywobbles?”

She almost did it, too! She had the first part down, so that’s what he would focus on. “What a smart girl!” he said, giving her a gentle pet on the head as a reward for trying to say his name. “So close. It’s Heath. Can you say Heath?”

Ooh, that gave him an idea! If he could get her to say his name, maybe he could teach her to repeat Star Wars quotes or lines from musicals. That would be so adorable! Before he could think much about it, the mummy jarvey’s voice jerked him out of his thoughts, and he felt her tap his hand. “Yes, ma’am!” he replied, laughing as he gave her the treat.

Heath kept petting Mollywobbles until an unexpected voice caused his head to jerk up. At first, he thought it was another jarvey yelling about “stupid weasel pets”, but then he saw it - a gnome - and so, apparently, did Mollywobbles. Before he had time to process what was happening, the professor was talking again, and…

WHAAAAT?!?!? Professor Windu wanted them to get in there? Congratulations! You have invented a new kind of stupid, Heath thought to himself. Not that he particularly cared about getting dirty; it was getting dirty in front of all these people that he hated! Seriously, what was it with all the professors forcing them to do disgusting and humiliating activities this term? At least Rainer’s poop scooping had a purpose. Even Snoke’s silliness kind of made sense in the context of the water aerobics activity, but this - Could someone please explain why this hunt had to take place here specifically, instead of some other less dirty location? And, no, that wasn’t snark. He genuinely did not understand, unless Professor W (he was going back to that name because professors who set him up for humiliation didn’t deserve Star Wars names) got some sick pleasure out of watching his students look stupid!

Despite his harsh thoughts, no anger showed on Heath’s face as he gently carried Mollywobbles closer to the mud pit. His dark eyes scanned the area, carefully assessing the actions of the jarveys, gnomes, and perhaps most importantly, the other students. No matter what the situation, he didn’t jump in (in this case, literally) without first anticipating the most likely outcome. As he watched everything unfold, he saw Claudine with her jarvey and her tissue, and he shot her a worried look that said, Are you okay to do this?

Between his concern for Claudine and Nala’s words, Heath had an idea! “Maybe only one of us has to get dirty…” he mused out loud, looking from the pit to his partner. “What if you try to guide her from the side while I toss any gnomes she finds?” He sighed, unable to believe what he was about to do. At least if this worked, he might be able to help others too, so no one else would have to get dirty! “Ready? Go!” he said, gently lowering Mollywobbles into the pit before going in after her.
"It's Heath," Mollywobbles repeated, bobbing her head against Heath's hand for another pat-pat. She was enjoying this relaxing time, and even though she was a great hunter, wasn't very eager to jump into the mud pit. "To the mud pit!!?!" She repeated the girl too.

The jarvey let out a squeak that sounded like a sigh. "Dear dear dear." She sniffed at the air and then dove into the pit, disappearing mostly except for her tail, which went straight up like a beacon as she led the way to the nearest gnome. The mud was hard to swim in like this; would these kids be a dear and help her along?

She held out the gloved hand holding the treats so that Alice could eat them and petted her soothingly with her other hand. Was a bond being created here??

She turned around when she heard a weird giggling noise ... oh, gnomes. Picking up her jarvey, she continued to stroke her fur gently to keep her calm. She walked over to the mud pit, which reminded her that this was where the smell was coming from. Not looking forward to going into this thing, nope. But she didn't mind helping the jarveys, because she did not want the gnomes to be brutally killed. "Go get some gnomes Alice, but don't hurt them, okay?" she said and lowered the creature into the pit. She would follow soon!
Oh Alice liked this, the petting-and-feeding-at-the-same-time thing, as long as this girl child didn't pull her hand back abruptly. She tried not to squeak when she got picked up, because what if this girl messed up her fur?! But here they were going to... into the pit. "You too!" Alice demanded, waiting at the edge of the pit. She was a competitive Jarvey but she wasn't going to get all dirty by herself. The girl needed to come TOO!

So, Alice leaned up out of the pit and nipped at the girl's ankles. Nothing hard enough to draw blood, but hard enough to get her moving. "AND HERE. WE. GO!" She took off, snaking through the mud like a shark pursuing a fat seal.
