Some of the students might think that as an animal lover and someone who actually looked after animals at home, he would be prepared for the reaction of the Jarvey named Pretzel but they would be wrong. Despite the shock on his face, Ewan couldn’t help but laugh and chuckle a little as the little creature scuttled underneath his hand in excitement at the idea of nomming down on the dead mice.

Giving him soothing, slow, scrunches as he eats the dead mouse, Ewan couldn’t help but wonder how the creature would fare back home in their farm. He’d always wanted to have a mixture of magical creatures and muggle animals although he wasn’t exactly sure how his family would react to them. There was also the fact that he might end up studying in London and not out in Canada too and if he wasn’t there to look after them, there was no chance of them becoming part of their everyday life.

Blinking for a moment, his eyes practically glossed over from his train of thought, he gave his head a little shake and dropped the other dead mouse in front of Pretzel once he’d finished the first. “Hey little friend, I’m Ewan. It’s nice to meet you” . Despite the fact Jarvey’s could only speak very basic phrases, he still chose to show it some respect.

Holding out his arm in front of the creature, he gave it a reassuring smile and continued “When you’re ready, jump up on my shoulder. We can go get you some fun toys to play with”. Would he choose the dead mouse or would he choose looking for a dead mouse? More than likely, he’d finish the mouse and then come but the prefect was curious.
