The twenty-six-year-old's brown eyes scanned the many available beverages, weighing his options on what he should drink—what his sister would like, and what might be of Chloe's taste—before tilting his head towards David. "Hey," he greeted back. "I see you got my name right this time. Not that I was offended, it's alright." Lightening up the conversation here, that was something Bryant was rather good at.
He settled for a drink of his choice first, taking the glass and sipping from it. That was when the other guy went on to praise his sister, which was extremely amusing to Bryant. The presence of his own sparkly drink just added to this aesthetic. "She is, although it might benefit you more if she were on the hearing end of that compliment," he casually pointed out. This is in spite of the fact that Jessica had just somehow embarrassed him back there, in front of the group. No biggie? Yeah, sort of. Bryant was putting that behind him now. "Mmm, yeah. Grew up together and all. We know almost everything about each other, and it's impossible not to when you live together." Mum and dad weren't here in London, and his old flame Seph kinda sorta broke his heart some time ago. Jessica was, pretty much, all he's got at the moment.
Any Corpse Flower-related stink were not noticed yet. Oh... no, why did BryanT have to bring that up. "Sorry," David mumbled, more into his drink than to the man, a bit of a flush developing on his cheeks at this faux pas. He really should have been paying more attention to the guy, but could anyone fault Davie for paying more attention to the women in their little circle?!
He... he didn't know what to say back to that bit of advice. "Oh." Okay, noted, he would go...er... make an attempt to say nice things to Jessica now. If he could psych himself up to do so. He wanted to say something else, some comment about living with one's sister, but then the corpse flower was blooming, and David's attention was drawn to the plant. Ahhh, there was the aroma he'd been expecting.
He smiled lightly in the direction of the plant and picked up another drink, as well as a handful of cocktail napkins. "The star of the evening has arrived," he commented to Bryant, also gesturing with one of his drinks toward the corpse flower. "I think I'll go see what our group thinks of it." Just excusing himself from more awkward small talk so that he could go educate Genny, more like, on the reason for the rotten odor in the room. He did enjoy annoying her with his know-it-all talk.
Back at the group, Davie was down to one drink, having finished another one en route and dropped off the glass already. None of these people had requested a drink from him, after all. They'd all wanted BryanT to bring them one. He smiled amicably at the ladies and his quidditch-playing friend. "Here's your cocktail napkins. You may want one to cover your nose." You know, because the flower had such a stench. He was enjoying it, though. It wasn't unexpected and it was just a sign of the life cycle and purposes of this plant, which was all Davie had eyes for.
