Kiko chuckled under her breath and shook her head "I wish I can bake something this marvelous but no. I found them on the table next to the beverages" she explained. Yummy, right?

Kiko nodded at the man when he excused himself but just when she was about to respond to him an awful putrid smell filled the room. She made a face. Ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew! She looked at Ryder and took out her handkerchief "Are we allowed to leave?"
Luther, who chuckled at the young woman (he still didn't know her name btw) for her lack of baking skills, was now scrunching up his nose as the flower 'blossomed'. Were they even allowed to call it blossoming? Ekh, it was like someone just killed a horse in here. Ekh. EKH. "I don't know but I am anyway. Wanna leave, too?" He was offering, as he took a step back towards the entrance.

EW. He didn't even care that he hadn't said hi to his head of department yet. THE SMELL.

He was comfortable enough with Eureka to have her be so formal. “I learn something new everyday,’’ was his modest response. “But I do love it there. And as for family… my only family is here in Britain and that’s Conley. He and I are married.’’ As Sachin said those words, he realised how good it felt to actually say them out loud after he and Conley kept their relationship a secret for the last few years.

How did you like it there? I hope there wasn't much of a language barrier."

She had also never shied away from talking about her kids. If not work, family always took up Kat's time. "Anyone who's been there would definitely know that, while Hogwarts is truly a great place, it's hard." She was borrowing Eureka's word choice, because she couldn't think of a better word to capture what she meant without being brutal about it.

"Olly's a pleasure to work with," Kat shared the sentiment. They did get along well, and sometimes the blond wondered how they never really interacted as students at Hogwarts many years ago. They would have been good friends too, she thought. "I wonder where she is, though. Judging from the looks of the corpse flower, it's almost time too." And every employee in DERP knew what that meant, naturally. It wasn't named the corpse flower for no reason.

Speaking of the flower, when its petals began peeling back, Kat already had an inevitable cringe on her face. She already knew what to expect, and it certainly was not going to be a pleasant experience.

Sachin was such a sweet man, did anyone tell him that? She smiled and nodded at both his statements. She was going to call him Sachin and hit him up if she was ever in India! Imagine having the wizard Ambassador in a country take you out on a tour? Wow. Like, wow. She was game already. "Oh, that's great." About the marriage. She was obviously surprised, though, because she didn't know that marrying someone in your line of reporting was allowed. Apparently yes? Or Sachin didn't report to Con? Whatever that was none of her business. "Is it hard to work with your husband?" She asked curiously, but lightly.

Kat and Sachin seemed to have a good conversation, too. This was nice. "Oh Norway is where my dad is from. I used to go there a lot when I was a child." She explained, "I speak the language, too." Her dad would be furious if she lost the basics.

Eurie nodded at the Hogwarts part. Also about Olivia. "I bet she won't come out with the corpse flower about to bloom," she chuckled. Although she did wish she could see her again and say hi. Olivia had been nothing but supportive of her during her previous working days.

... oh the blooming! Eureka's attention shifted to the flower, calmly and not reacting at all to the stench from the flower. It was all too interesting and fascinating to watch honestly.

Jessica chuckled gently at Genny's words. "Yeah. I got a bit of that from the contest. I had to answer all of the questions for us. Like...I mean, say the answers for everyone to hear. I'm by no means stupid - I speak four languages and went to university and everything - but he definitely knows more random stuff than I do," she said with a shrug as she watched David and Bryant go get drinks...together.

Which was worrying.

She hoped, even with her little stunt she just pulled with Bryant, that he didn't embarrass her, but her hopes weren't very high.

"Was he appreciative at all of you signing him up, then?"
she asked Genny as she just smirked at Chloe. "I know quite a few cute quidditch players...boys and girls, if you're interested," she winked at Chloe. "I'm still pretty close to all of my former clients..." one in particular she remained friends with. Jessica loved playing match-maker, but often she couldn't in order to remain "professional." Especially in her old job. She could nEVER have gotten involved in such personal stuff with the famous people she had worked for. Nuhh-uh. WEIRD.

Oh goodness! What was - was it the FLOWER?

Jessica gestured at the flower for the two girls. "It's blooooming, it's blooming!" she said in a hushed tone, as if the flower would need complete silence to do its thing.

...oh...

OH...

That did NOT smell pleasant. Jessica was crinkling her nose, but she thought the bloom was beaaaautiful. Stunning. Wow.
Genny listened to Jessica at first her smile was BIG but then it got a little smaller when Jessica subtly called Davie's knowledge random. "Oh, he knows A LOT of useful things. He's intelligent." Genny was definitely a ferocious friend, so she couldn't help but get defensive for Davie. "He's basically the smartest person in the room today." Okay, fine, she got carried away there but it was how she felt about all her friends.

Was he grateful? She scoffed at the idea, "Oh I wish. He complained before but I can see now that he made a good number of friends there who work in the ministry as well. I would say he hit the jackpot." Thanks to Genny, hehe. The exchange about cute Quidditch players was a little... embarrassing for Genny to be standing around for... just a little. She remained quiet, cleared her throat and played with her empty glass.

What was that smell? Rotten eggs? Genny's eyes followed Jessica's as the giant flower started to move. Her body tensed at the scene and the awful stench, it didn't even look good opening up. It looked like fleshy limbs being peeled apart, ekh. Where was Sam when you needed him? "Ew." Davie? Come back quickly, please.

Though wrapped up in greetings and her eyes constantly on her minister boyfriend her nose was attacked by an awful smell. It didn't take long to realize what it was and her eyes lifted to the awful flower. This was a big moment? It was no world cup. [/COLOR]
!!!!!!!!!!!

Genny unwrinkled her disgusted face when Madam Victoria approached her. She beamed, couldn't help but to, and stood up straighter. "Good evening, Ma'am!" The woman was lovely and had this big aura around her that vibed off success and strength. Basically what Genny adored. "I am, thanks a lot. It's a great party the ministry has this year," this was a fib. The flower was kind of ruining the atmosphere tbh. "How are you?"

Could she fake a headache to get her and Charles out of there early?

She assumed it would be her leaving alone if she did, he did have a job to do and she'd never fake anything to take him away from that, plus she was never one to fake when it came to work. "What is your recommendation for my next drink?"
Oh! Jessa smiled widely at Victoria, refusing to even grace her husband with a look as she walked away with the woman. "Yes, please." Her husband was tactless today, she would point out when they went back home. Fortunately for him, Jessa ironically didn't like creating a dramatic scene in the middle of a party anymore. She left her dramatic skills in the theatre when she left.

When the women made it to the beverages, Jessa sighed a little and scanned them with her eyes. Hmmm. "Hmmm, I dunno. Any of the butterbeer based ones? I'm thinking of moving away from fruity in this next round. Besides, Fletcher doesn't really like butterbeer" Jessa smiled deviously at that.
