Though it had been no small task helping to prep the greenhouses for the party, Mariana had enjoyed lending a hand, and it felt good knowing she'd had a say in how to ensure the flora was safe and sound during such a big event. It was equally nice that ~~her babies~~ the plants were being showcased for all the ministry to see. They were looking amazing, right? She was looking pretty amazing herself and after securing a drink, the brunette decided to do a lap and enjoy the atmosphere. No matter the occasion, this place was always magical to her.

It felt strange being back after everything and though Emilia was doing her best to enjoy the festivities, she couldn't help but focus on who wasn't in attendance and all that had happened leading up to this event. Being an auror had always been her dream, but she was discovering just how difficult it could be at times, and turning it off was that much harder to do with each passing day.

Jumping a bit as a guy about her age shouted across the room to another man, the brunette frowned slightly and ran a hand through her hair. "Relax, Em." Maybe some food would help. She looked around briefly and then headed over to make herself a plate.

Accompanying Kodee here hadn't been entirely selfless, as Mackenzie was still jumping at any opportunity to spend time away from their flat in as discreet a way as she could manage. Today's occasion being that Kodee had quit a job that he enjoyed to pursue something that helped them and their future together. It had been this huge step, one that he'd decided on without needing to be asked, and she was just feeling really proud of him. She was also feeling kind of guilty, but that feeling quickly went away when she heard her boyfriend shouting across the room to Kaiser. Merlin, some things were never going to change, huh? At least she'd escaped to check out the corpse flower before he'd decided to-

When she turned, the uni student did find that Kaiser was here, and apparently also working for the ministry, which made all of this so much better in her eyes. Kodee wasn't going to be alone here. He'd have someone to look after him, someone he liked. She couldn't have planned it better herself.
