Naia was perfectly fine. Kalen was just sometimes a spacey odd duck. Emphasis on the spacey. It was sometimes a wonder that he was so good at his studies because he often came off as airhead. Today, he was just preoccupied with his rumbling tummy. As soon he could, he shoveled food into his mouth. ”Arg…hot…hot…” He opened and closed his mouth trying to cool off the piece of potato he’d found to be hot. Soon he had it down and then coughed. His mother would have slapped the back of his head if she had just witnessed him. His growling stomach would have to wait a little longer for his food to cool down it seemed, so he busied himself with answering her question. ”Yep, Edinburgh. Just finished my first year.” He eyed his stew urging it to cool down. ”Pre-healer studies with a focus on Sports Medi-healing. What about you?” The university was big enough, he probably hadn’t run into her at all.

He poked at the food, tempted to eat more, but his smarting tongue told him he better not. ”Alaska! Nice to find another Yank! Has anyone called you that yet? I’m not even sure my flat mates know my name. They just call me Yank.” He realized he was rambling, but couldn’t stop. He really needed to make more friends. ”Funny…always wanted to go to Alaska. Heard the sunsets and rises are beautiful. Me? I’m from Boston. I bet your winters are colder. Unless you’re from Fairbanks, in which case, I’m pretty sure Boston has you beat!” He chuckled. Merlin he was such a nerd. Who else would know that Fairbanks was the warmest city in Alaska?
