A few other students were piggybacking onto her answer, which she thought was really nice. She nodded as she got to learn more from Jillian and Missa thanks to their addition. A Gryffindor girl (Shivvy) even mentioned how funny her answer was! Jina was a bit surprised by the comment and question, since she had never seriously thought about it. She simply shrugged, stifling a laughter - this class was just getting more and more interesting. Although she did not verbally reply to the younger girl, she thought the purpose of the illustrations could be to 1) demonstrate to children the harmony between flora / fungi and fauna, 2) anthropomorphise toads and make them appear cuter than they actually are, and 3) create a visually appealing image through the colour contrast between green toads and red toadstools.

Deep in thoughts, she missed the majority of the professor’s speech. She took the piece of paper summarising their discussion and skimmed through it before putting it in her Herbology folder. Oh, crossbreeding! That was a fascinating topic. When it was her turn to speak, she said, “Mendel the muggle scientist crossbred a large number of pea plants and observed the characteristics of the offspring. That’s how he discovered the principles of inheritance.” Inheritance was also a fascinating area of study.
