Okay, so Headmaster Trent didn't totally hate her answer. At least hers had been logical. Avalon usually tried to hold back on being judgmental in class, but some of her classmates' answers downright ridiculous. Seriously, punch it in the snout?! That was a surefire way to get yourself killed. And why was Ewan bowing to the horse? Merlin, it wasn't a hippogriff!! She truly couldn't believe the stupidity of her classmates sometimes.

After grabbing a bridle from the bucket, the young Ravenclaw took a few minutes to familiarize herself with it. She wanted to make sure it was in the correct position before she had to place it. There didn't seem to be much room for error, and those horses didn't seem very forgiving. Avalon had cast the placement charm before, but never on an object that required such precise maneuvers. Taking a deep breath, she pointed her wand at the bridle. "Fixate!" With as steady a hand as she could manage, she guided it over until it was hovering close to the horse's head.

Now, should she go for a slow-and-steady lowering, or a quick drop? She didn't want to startle it, but if she took too long, the horse could get irritated. After a brief moment of hesitation, she decided to go for the slower approach. Maybe if she did it so gently, the horse wouldn't even notice?
