"You're a stubborn one, aren't you?" Cecelia eyed Mate, picking up a few of the treats and bringing them over to him. She set them down by his little feeties and moved off to the side, an idea having formed in her head. She knew JUST how to get him moving, she just needed to catch him off guard.
The human was finally catching on and Mate's tail was high, his belly about to be happy with the treats he was being given. He hadn't even had to lift a paw. Humans were easy, especially the small ones. He om nom nommed, head bowed, paying the girl child no mind now that he had what he'd wanted all along.
Sneaking off down to the end of the course, Cecelia hid behind one of the obstacles and sloooooowly moved one of the toy mouses into Mate's line of sight. She waited a moment, and then wiggled it some, and then pulled it back. "Come on, Mate. Come get the mouse." She repeated the action, leaving the mouse out in the open for a few more seconds this time...and continued this, trying to tempt the kneazle to come to her.
Wait, where had the child gone? He was done with this game and would very much like to go back to his home now. She needed to stop with this-oh. Hello little intruder. Ears pointed forward, Mate watched, his nose sniff sniff sniffing. He didn't smell anything different, but the movement held his interest.
Mate padded forward, lurking towards the mouse. A few steps and he'd stop, and watch, and wait, then a few more.
When he was close enough, tail flicking, back arching, body ready, Mate POUNCED, right on over the finish line.
