Helga scurried down the corridor, her pockets filled with snack packets. A meeting without snacks was hardly a meeting at all. Besides, this would surely be an unpleasant meeting and snacks lifted everyone's moods. Coincidentally, snacks were also the reason why she was running quite late. "Hello, hello," she sung as she neared the crowd gathered by the gargoyles. "Malachi, dear, you look quite tense," she reached into her pockets and felt around for a moment before pulling out some chocolates and offering them to him. "Eat. Now, what is this talk about leaving?" Her voice was both gentle and firm as she looked at him with concern. "We can't go back. There is work to be done and while I admire your perseverance, you ought to step back and rest, m'dear. You are very tired. This is no state to be in when running a school, wouldn't you agree?" |
