Why was it everywhere that Godric sought to be Salazar was there already?

"I beseech you to cease using your abilities against me, Salazar," the lion maned Englishman growled at the bearded snake as he too approached the soon-to-be-former headmaster's gargoyles. "Your Legilimency is as slimey as you are."

Strutting up to the gargoyle itself, Godric drew his sword once more (which he had cleaned since its previous blow) and gave the stone a firm TWACK with the blade.

"I SAY!" Another TWACK, this one producing an impressive shower of sparks. "I SAY! BRING US TO TRENT! I HAVE A DUEL TO BEST HIM IN!"

It was the only honorable way to deal with such matters.

Pausing his whacking, chest heaving, he briefly turned his attention back to Salazar. "I take it your negotiations were fruitless?" So much was obvious by the manner in which his brow was creased. "Brute force is the only way to handle these people, Salazar."
